Manufacturing

DMI Young & Cunningham manufacture, stock and distribute valves and fluid control systems. The

name of Young & Cunningham can trace its history back to 1924. Now integrated into the DMI group

of companies it remains one of the UK’s foremost suppliers of fluid control equipment.

The policy of the company which has not changed since its inception is to take a personal interest in

the fluid handling problems of our customers, whether technical or operational and assist in the se-

lection and supply of the correct valves by our specialist staff.

Products Our own manufacturing capability lies primarily in the manufacture of

non ferrous valves predominantly in Bronze (LG2 and LG4).

We also manufacture valves in a variety of other materials ranging from

cast iron to stainless steel. The size and format of these can be ad-

justed to suit your particular process or application.

Markets

Originally the Young & Cunningham name was associated primarily with

the supply of marine valves. However, over the years our expertise has

expanded into additional markets, these include: oil and gas, food and

beverage, energy, water and sewerage, heating and ventilation, petro-

chemical and chemical, mechanical engineering, pulp and paper. The

list of industries and markets we supply continues to increase on an an-

nual basis.

Additional Services

Having our own foundry and machining facility allows for the production

of bespoke products. We can design, manufacture and test to the re-

quired approval/certification standard virtually any valve design. This is

ideal for the replacement of non identifiable or discontinued items for

example in ship repair.

Although DOBBIE McINNES® is no longer trading we continue

to offer support and service to the many existing customers still using

the DOBBIE McINNES® automation, actuation and control

panels.

In addition to manufacturing our own range of valves, we also act as agents and distributors for a

number of carefully selected partners. These partners offer a range of products which complement

and enhance the products and services we offer to our customers.

We can supply valves in virtually any material and size to suit your application, from simple manually

operated ball valve to a fully automated hydraulically operated sub sea control valve, we have the

solutions and expertises to meet your fluid control requirements.

Stock The ability to supply the correct

product for a particular applica-

tion in the timeframe required by

our clients is key to our supply

philosophy.

To this end we hold an extensive

range of valves in stock for imme-

diate despatch. The products we

hold in stock cover a wide range

of types, materials and formats to suit most industries applications.

Should a valve not be in stock we can call upon our extensive partners

supply portfolio to be able to meet your requirements in a timely man-

ner. As well as stocking individual valves we also stock a selected

range of ready assembled hydraulic, pneumatic and electrically actuated

valves in butterfly, globe and ball configurations.

Our stocking policy is not limited to finished

product, we also stock a comprehensive range

of spares to suit the products we manufacture

and supply. Should a valve require a spare or

service we can supply the required item or carry

out the service/repair in our workshop.

Whether manufactured in our own Lloyds ap-

proved foundry or supplied from one of our se-

lected partners we aim to provide high quality

service and customer satisfaction.
