WHO WE ARE

REMOSA was set up in Súria (Barcelona) in 1981, dedicating itself to innovation and progress. It has very good domestic and

international coverage, both due to its team of 67 staff and partners in Spain, France and Portugal and to the logistics and

manufacturing centres it has in Súria (Barcelona) and Noblejas (Toledo).

REMOSA makes products for waste water treatment, water regeneration and liquids storage.

Its engineering department with its own research team and two production plants with the most advanced technology offer a

comprehensive design, development and start-up service for urban waste water treatment solutions.

CONCERN FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Through its work, REMOSA promotes the environment, both in-house and in

society as a whole.

Proof of this is our ISO 14001:2004 certification and the renewal of the

ISO 9001:2000, which certifi es REMOSA’s purpose as the “design and

manufacture of liquids treatment and storage systems, in order to improve

and conserve the environment”.

R&D+i DEVELOPMENT

RESIMA guarantees the utmost professionalism, quality and innovation to its customers. Formed by a highly qualified team and with

its testing plant, RESIMA tests and researches new products and applications for our entire product range.

Just round the corner from our headquarters is the pilot plant and laboratory dedicated to the testing and characterisation of

waste water treatment systems. The main aim of this Project is to STUDY, IMPROVE AND OPTIMISE our products’ treatment lines.

The following centres participated in this Project.

CENTRE FOR INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT (CDTI), which

forms part of the Ministry of Tourism and Industry.

CTM technology centre.

UNIVERSIDAD POLITÉCNICA DE CATALUÑA (UPC).

SOSTAQUAHISTORY

Setting up of the R&D+i department in September 2004 Start-up of the Pilot Plant. November 2005

- Pioneer Pilot plant- Water quality parameter testing laboratory- Photovoltaic energy production system

R&D+i PROJECTS

DIDEP 2004-2006 project: Design and Optimisation of Urban Waste Water Treatment Systems

SIREA project (2006-2008): Innovative Urban Waste Water Treatment and Recycling System using Membrane Bioreactors (MBR)

SOSTAQUA project (2007-2011): Technological Development towards the Self-sustainable Urban Water Cycle

SIREA PROJECT

Development of compact Systems for recycling of urban waste water using membrane technology

MBR: hybrid process combining a biological treatment process (bioreactor) with a physical separation process using membranes

Advantages- Improved effluent quality, both in environmental and in sanitary

terms- Elimination of decantability problems- Greater concentration of biomass in the reactor, enabling:

– Elimination of slower degrading particles- Reduction of sludge production- Reduction of the reactor size

SOSTAQUA PROJECT

Set of large-scale integrated industrial research projects of a strategic nature and a wide scientific and technical scope

Its aim is to carry out R&D+i in a sustainable supply and comprehensive water cycle management context

Use of membrane technology for the treatment of water other than urban waste water

Standardisation of compact treatment systems in FRP Fields of application

– Greywater treatment– Other treatments

Development of Research and Development tasks 4-year project subsidised by the CDTI

PRODUCTS

REMOSA’s four large subsets are:

HOUSEHOLD WASTE WATER TREATMENT HYDROCARBON SEPARATORS GREYWATER RECYCLING SYSTEMS LIQUIDS STORAGE

With these four subsets, REMOSA provides optimum waste water treatment and liquids storage solutions for all its customers.

The launch of the new line of greywater recycling system represents a leap forward towards ecological efficiency, recycling

household and waste water for the WC, watering and outside cleaning.

TRANSFORMATION PROCESS

All our systems are manufactured in FIBREGLASS REINFORCED PLASTIC (FRP). This material is

ideal due to its lightness, rigidity, high chemical resistance, good vibration absorption, dimensional

stability and durability.

REMOSA offers a wide range of systems, both in terms of size and format. All follow a standardised

manufacturing process guaranteeing the customer fast delivery. Depending on their size, systems

follow two manufacturing processes:

- Manual process: for systems of up to 6,000 litres. This is a manual laminating process.

- Automated process: For systems of over 6,000 litres, the mechanical resistance requirements

require use of an automated process called filament winding.

WASTE WATER TREATMENT

Water has now become the highest valued of the natural elements in terms of both its quantity and its quality. This fact, along with

increasing environmental awareness, have led to any dumping of waste water and products likely to pollute continental waters

requiring an administrative authorisation.

Within this environmental and legislative framework, REMOSA provides a wide range of

solutions to meet current legislation.

Broadly speaking, we provide both total oxidation and natural biological systems capable

of treating the household waste water equivalent of from 4 up to 2,000 residents.

HYDROCARBON SEPARATORS

The REMOSA Hydrocarbon Separators line was designed to treat waste water that may be polluted with mineral oils. These systems

are required in service stations, garages, multi-storey car parks, car washes, etc.

In order to meet all the market’s needs, REMOSA offers hydrocarbon separators with flow rates that vary between 1.5 and 250

litres/sec.

GREYWATER RECYCLING SYSTEMS

Water is becoming an increasingly important and an increasingly scarce resource, so why not use the water from our houses again,

extending the life of this natural resource, which would bring very positive environmental and economic results.

REMOSA’s regeneration systems treat waste water of any origin, be it faecal or from basins, showers, etc., for subsequent use

for watering, outside cleaning or the WC.

REMOSA regeneration systems have a number of benefits:

Saving on drinking water consumption Recycling of water for watering, outside cleaning and WC tanks Compact system: easier to assemble, less costly to install Environmentally friendly

LIQUIDS STORAGE

REMOSA’s liquids storage line has a wide range of sizes and formats, with buried, surface, vertical and horizontal systems for

liquids storage of from 50 to 150,000 litres.

Our customers can choose from tanks, vats, rainwater collectors, WC tanks, fuel tanks, fire-fighting systems, etc.
