CRIME RELATED – Moving towards the festive season always attracts an increase in crime related incidents. Festive season operational plans between the Security Companies and Police are already in place and will roll out from now till mid January. Increased patrols and visibility will be noticed. Precautions need to be taken when outside enjoying a summer evening braai, etc. The criminal element seems to have little concern, taking risks such as jumping a wall for a quick snatch and grab. Please show your family and staff where the panic buttons are in the home. It is important to hold the button for at least 2 seconds to ensure the activation is sent through to the control room. Please park your visitor’s vehicles inside your property, especially over weekends when vehicle theft syndicates drive around and steal vehicles parked on the streets of the suburbs. Always arm your security Alarms, etc, at night while you are asleep. A “stay mode” option can be programmed which will automatically bypass the sleeping areas and arm the rest of the house. Speak to us if you haven’t got this function which we can program in for you. Until next month stay safe!

A home had a “gate buddy” installed. A GATE BUDDY alarm was received in our control room whilst the gate motor was being tampered with. Our reaction officer reacted swiftly and unfortunately the perpetrators got away but the Gate Motor remained in place .

A client of CSS, called our control room to say they could see a suspect jumping over the wall from the freeway side. S1,M1,T1, went to the freeway side and saw a suspect holding 2 big pots and they chased him. Suspect dropped the pots and jumped over a wall into another property and unfortunately got away but the pots were recovered and the owner collected them the following day

Clive Street : Community Support Services was called to assist a resident in Clive Street, his construction vehicle was parked outside and the spare tyre was removed by a B/M. The owner chased the suspect together with Community Support Services, he was caught by the owner who dealt with the suspect and let him go but received his tyre back.

RPRCPA: The only incident was trespassers reported at the empty house in Klapperboom. IF YOUR NEIGHBOURS ARE NOT LINKED TO Community Support Services, THEN PLEASE ENCOURAGE THEM TO JOIN THE SECURITY INITIATIVE. INFORMATION IS CONTAINED IN A PAMPHLET DROPPED OFF DURING THE WEEK BUT AS WE ALL KNOW RESIDENTS VERY SELDOM CHECK THEIR POST BOXES ... SO PLEASE ENCOURAGE THEM ! LINDEN PRECINCT: MALANSHOF, MORET, FONTAINBLEAU, RUITERHOF Whilst on patrol, T1,M1 and the police spotted two B/M and they were stopped and searched. They said they were going to Sunrise but one was carrying an ID book which did not belong to him so Linden SAPS took them to the police station for finger printing. On Sunday 29

th David, was patrolling in Monkor found a B/M carrying a brand

new bicycle. When questioned he refused to answer, Claudia was requested to enquire on the Monkor Group to see if anyone was missing a bicycle. In the interim, the B/M confessed where he got the bike from and the owner was contacted and confirmed that it was stolen from them but elected not open a case and therefore the police would not be able to arrest him. .
