COMMUNITY SERVICES REPORT 2014 – 2015

YEAR IN REVIEW

Throughout the year, the GRAMMY Foundation brings our initiatives of music education, preservation, and advancement to life through a variety of awards, events, and programs. Thanks to nationwide outreach efforts, we attract diverse participants — from young people and teachers applying for

our GRAMMY in the Schools programs to archivists, librarians, and scientific researchers submitting proposals to our GRAMMY Foundation Grants Program. This Community Services Report is a retrospective look at our 2015 Fiscal Year (Aug. 1 — July 31), and an opportunity to reflect on our achievements,

all thanks to the support of our generous donors. Join us as we review our year, by the numbers …

“[I] realized that music was not just an enjoyable activity, but that it has the power to change even the darkest of days into days filled with hope and excitement. On behalf of the thousands of music educators and music

programs across the nation, I cannot express our gratitude enough to the GRAMMY Foundation

and The Recording Academy for this recognition.”— Jared Cassedy

“The experience of two years of GRAMMY Band has given my son so much confidence and inspired him to keep practicing and challenging himself musically. He is humbled by the

caliber of musicians he has been fortunate enough to play with, and his bond with his fellow campers has transcended GRAMMY Band to other honor band and college settings. These

kids have truly become a support group for each other. He has also received incredible mentorship by the amazing staff. I know that he will make an effort throughout college and

his career to mentor musicians as he has been mentored, and to further the cause of music in the schools. Thank you, again, for everything!”

“Being recognized with the GRAMMY Signature School Award was

such a moment of validation for our students and for our community. We were

able to get the impulse and the motivation to move forward in our music education. This really helps to recruit great students to our school and

creates a wonderful culture for them to be in. It helps reinforce the excellence of our program

with our school’s administration.”— MarGarita Muñiz aCadeMy, JaMaiCa plains, Ma 2015 GraMMy siGnature sChools enterprise award reCipient
