Ÿ 100,000 children each year are affected by divorce, separation and death.Ÿ Confused and angry, these young people often reveal their pain by acting out with inappropriate behavior or withdrawing in unhealthy ways.Ÿ RAINBOWS offers a pro-active response to this dilemma.

Rainbows for children Grade 1-8 will begin again in Didsbury in January and will run for 12 consecutive weeks for an hour/ week. The Rainbows program in available to all families at no cost.

DOSCA The Didsbury Out of School Care Association (DOSCA) offers before and after school care for children 5-12 years. This licensed program offers a range of age-appropriate activities for attendees. This program allows children to have fun and meet friends in a safe environment. Full-day Friday programs, and Christmas and Spring Break camps offered throughout the school year, as well. Located in the ECS wing of Ross Ford Elementary School. The program provides students the opportunity to volunteer in our facility to gain work experience. Students can volunteer in a medical environment to assist them in making a decision to further careers in a medical field. We welcome all youth that are ages 13-17 years. Youth Aquatic Programs this Winter

Mommy Break Time: Parents get a break, while children 3-7 years play in the water with a lifeguard/instructor. Coffee, tea and cookies provided. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11-12 noon.

Craft & Splash: Preschoolers are sure to enjoy this new program. We will be making a fun craft followed by a half hour in the pool with one of our lifeguards! Mondays and Wednesdays, 1-2 pm.

Youth Water Sports: Join your friends in fun competition while learning the basics in water polo, underwater hockey and volleyball! , Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-7 pm for ages 8-12 and 7-8 pm for ages 13-18.

ARMY CADETSRoyal Canadian Army Cadets is a national youth organization for ages 12-18 years, who are interested in participating in a variety of challenging and rewarding adventure and outdoor activities. Although Cadets are not part of the Canadian Forces, they learn about the air, land and sea elements of the Canadian Forces, as well as many other skills that may be used throughout their entire lives. CANADIAN FIREARM

SAFETY COURSEThe Canadian Firearm Safety Course is the pre-requisite for obtaining a Possession and Acquisition License (PAL). A PAL is necessary to buy ammunition and firearms. The course deals with safe firearm handling and storage, as well as the responsibilities of a firearm owner. Total class time is 10 hours. Testing consists of theory and practical exams. For ages 12 years and older. Minors taking the course are eligible to apply for a Minors Permit, so they can legally handle firearms. Didsbury Neighborhood Place. DIDSBURY MUSEUMUPCOMING EVENTS

Coffee & Conversation - held at the Museum the fourth Wednesday of each month from 1-3:30 pm. Each month we have a special guest and then enjoy chatting with others and a visit around the Museum. Everyone welcome.

Jan. 25 - Our guest will be members of the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation, along with their hawk Blackjack. As this is a non-profit organization requiring funds to feed and protect the wildlife, donations would be appreciated.

Feb. 22 - Our guest will be Don Styles who is a Master Bander from the Calgary and Area Bluebird Trail. Don checks and maintains the bluebird houses along with fence lines in and around Didsbury.

March 28 - Our guest presenter will be Didsbury Artist, Ruth Jepson. Ruth is well known for her beautiful portrait paintings, located around our community.

Annual Roast Beef Supper and Auction- March 3 at 5:30 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. Cost is $25/ member or $30/non-member. We would appreciate donations or suggestions for our silent and live auctions.

Learn to Weave -Learn to weave on the old wooden 1937 loom at the Museum. Anaya Lea has offered to teach anyone interested in learning to weave at no cost. At the moment we are weaving tea towels and may weave rag rugs that will be for sale. They will certainly be one of a kind.

Train Club - Our train club meets Saturday afternoons at the Museum and they continue to build a train set to depict the Town of Didsbury in the early 1950-60s. These guys have a lot of fun and welcome new members. Call Rick Astle at 556-8121 for more details.

The tuition fee includes the use of all tools, chemicals, cleaners, polishes and glass. You will create a flat window hanging and sun catchers. Cost is $225 + gst.

Intermediate Project - Flexible day times in February. Pick from hundreds of existing patterns or come with your own idea. Work with stained glass artist Bill Anthony and create a truly unique piece. Cost is materials used and hours needed to complete.

Bevel Cluster Class - Tuesday and Thursday, Jan. 24-31, 6:30-9:30 pm, or flexibile day times. This workshop is for those who have taken the intro class. Select a pre-cut bevel cluster, that requires no fitting, and with the help of stained glass artist Bill Anthony, design a suitable background. Once framed, you will have a beautiful window hanging. You purchase the bevel cluster and background glass, and the tuition fee is $50.00+ gst.

Public Swim: All ages welcome, those children 7 yrs of age and under must be accompanied by a responsible person 16 yrs of age or older. Hot Tub and Steam Room available.

Family Swim: All ages welcome, these swims are designated to families. All minor children must be accompanied in the water by an adult (+18), all adults must be accompanied by a child. Hot Tub and Steam Room available (age requirements).

Early Bird and Lap swim: This swim is designated for lane swimming, hot tub and steam room only. Anyone participating must swim lengths.

Open Swim: Available for anyone! Half of the pool will be sectioned off for the lane swimmers with the rest of the pool open for all to enjoy. The slide will be turned off during this swim.

Senior Swim: This swim is designated for those seniors interested in a relaxing, leisurely, self-directed workout. Hot Tub and Steam Room available.

Toonie Parent and Tot: Parents and Tots are welcome to use the Tot Pool and Hot Tub for only a Toonie each.

Mommy Break Time: Parents get a break, while children 3-7 years play in the water with a lifeguard/instructor. Coffee, tea and cookies provided.

Adult Swim: This time is designated for those 18+ to swim laps, play in the water, enjoy the Steam Room or soak in the Hot Tub.
