Communities for Children Alice Springs 2016 Calendar
Funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services
About Communities for Children (CfC) Since 2010 Anglicare NT in Alice Springs has been funded by the Department of Social Services as the Facilitating Partner for Communities for Children (CfC). The Facilitating Partner subcontracts Community Partners to deliver place based early intervention activities that have positive and sustainable outcomes for the most vulnerable and at risk children and their families.
Our current Community Partners are Akeyulerre, FAST NT, Holyoake, Lutheran Community Care, Multicultural Community Services Central Australia and Relationships Australia. They deliver a number of activities that promote the CfC’s objective and vision.
Our objective is to improve the health and well-being of families and the development of young children, from before birth through to age 12 years.
Our vision is that all children and families in Alice Springs have the opportunity and support to develop and grow emotionally, spiritually, physically and mentally, in a
child-friendly and nurturing community.
Children’s Art Exhibition During Children’s Week in October 2015 CfC worked collaboratively with our Community Partners, the CfC Committee, Create and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart school to host a Gala Dinner, a Fun afternoon in the Plaza and a Children’s Art Exhibition in the Alice Springs Library. The art included in this calendar is from the Children’s Week Art Exhibition. CfC expresses their thanks to Acacia Hill School, Gillen Primary Preschool and Create for their contributions to this calendar. CfC acknowledges the contribution of the Social Work student from Australian Catholic University (NSW) to Children’s Week.
