CELEBRATION OF LIFE CONCERT AT ST. JUDE

CATHOLIC SCHOOL

The St. Jude Catholic School community will be holding its 4th Annual Celebration of Life Concert on Friday, March 22, 2013 to celebrate the life of former student Maria Fudge, who passed away unexpectedly in 2009. The concert also celebrates the achievements of staff and students for working towards achieving the school’s motto of: Striving for excellence in all that we do. The celebration brings the students and staff together to recall the gifts this young student shared with the community. It is an opportunity to recognize all students at the school who are living their faith by exhibiting compassion for others and striving to achieve their full, God-given potential. The Concert will take place from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will include performances by one of the top break-dancing crews in the province, GG Squad. Students in grade 6 will perform the salsa and merengue, and the grade 8 students will perform the African drums with the Arts of Children and Youth Program. Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School’s Drum Line will also perform under the direction of Adam Caringi and Tony Rossi, and Stephen DeRezze, a math teacher from Chaminade College School will also be on hand for a vocal performance. Andria Angelosante, a vocal music teacher with the TCDSB will also perform. Maria was in Grade 4 at the school when she passed away. She was a compassionate student to whom empathy and friendships were extremely important. She had a strong Catholic faith and tried to live her life accordingly each and every day, to the best of her ability. A selfless student, she would go out of her way to help others in need. She loved nature and cared for the environment. She particularly enjoyed the winter season and loved life itself and all that it had to offer.
