Newsfeed
• Social media tool• Great for sharing quickly, including rich media• Users choose what to listen to• A lot like Twitter or Facebook status updates
Activity 1
• In SharePoint, go to Newsfeed - search for #digilit
• “Follow” this hashtag

Sharing Documents – More Ideas
• Brainstorming• Collaborative creative writing projects• Fill in the blanks• Problem solving activities• Allows students to gather ideas, data, and information
while working in a collaborative environment• Students working together to solve a problem• Vocabulary practice – one student writes the word and
the other writes the definition
Activity 4• Create a shared document that you can use with one of your
classes
• Tips– Smaller teams may work better – create several copies and divide class
into groups.– Turn on “Track Changes” to ensure full participation and avoid sabotage.– Prevent “cursor wars” by
• Giving each student a space they can type into• Giving each contributor a different role – fact finder/ideas creator,
punctuation/grammar checker, embellisher, etc.• Giving each student their own section – introduction, conclusion, first paragraph
etc.

Evernote is awesome
– It stores everything!• Typed notes• Hand-written notes• Photos• Audio clips• Web-clips
– Everything is searchable– Its platform agnostic – use it on macs, iPads, PC, your
phone– Students can share their notebooks
• With peers – collaborate!• With teachers – feedback!
Evernote Exercise Books
• This student is part of the BYOD trial and has his own iPad that he brings to school each day.
• He has been photographing his exercise book every time he finishes a page and storing it with Evernote.
• Because it can store photos, typed notes, pdfs, webclips and audio files, he can keep his whole learning experience together in one place.
• He has shared this notebook with the subject teacher, who is able to view it any time, and create their own notes to give feedback.
• If the teacher takes the book in, the student still has a copy.
• In fact, he always has all his notes from all his subjects, all in one place! Awesome!
Activity 7
• Sign up for an Evernote account and log in• Create a notebook • Add a note• Try adding a photo or an audio clip• Share it with someone else in the group
Activity 8 - Feedback
• Use Padlet to share your thoughts, favourite activity or idea from today’s training session.
