Through unfaithfulness in the home, and idolatrous influences without, many of the Hebrew youth

received an education differing widely from that which God had planned for them. They learned the

ways of the heathen.

To meet this growing evil, God provided other agencies as an aid to parents in the work of education.

(13) Notices from the Public Affairs, Publishing & Religious Liberty Dpt.

1. Sabbath April 12, 2014 is Literature Evangelism Impact Day. Publishing Day is the

following Sabbath April 19. All are invited to journey over to the beautiful town of Yallahs

in St. Thomas where the service will be held at the Yallahs Seventh day Adventist Church.

Guest speaker will be Pastor Omri Davis, former publishing director of the North Jamaica

Conference. Please pray for the further growth and development of the Publishing Work in

East Jamaica Conference.

2. Since Tuesday, April 1 2014, all reading materials (literature) are supplied by Inter-American

Division Publishing Association (IADPA). The Book and Nutrition Center (BNC) no longer

exists. IADPA is now the direct supplier of all books to the colporteur, effective on the date

stated above.

3. To: All Pastors, Elders, Publishing and Spirit of Prophecy Coordinators of Zone 4

Christian greetings to you all! In a previous letter to the entire constituency, I intimated that I

would get back to you re: your publishing rally date. Just to remind you, 2014 is recognized

by Inter-America Division (IAD) as the year of the literature evangelist, and the month of

April as Publishing Month

In keeping with this initiative by the Division, your Publishing Rally will be held at the

Yallahs SDA Church on Sabbath, April 19. Please note that this date coincides with

Publishing Day throughout IAD. The Division strongly recommends that each church should

have at least one colporteur. I urge our leaders to “look ye out among you men of honest

report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom ye may appoint over this business” of the

colporteur ministry. Not men and women “slothful in business” and who have nothing to do,

for such will only “bring reproach on the Lord’s work!”

4. To: All Pastors, Elders and Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) coordinators:

I use this opportunity to thank all PARL directors of the respective congregations for doing

your part as the situations arise, to assist members who have difficulty at the work-place and

in the classroom when there is a conflict with the Sabbath.

I would also like to commend the many members who stood boldly, for their faith in the

bible concerning God’s holy day-the Sabbath. I must also encourage those who may

compromise their faith, not to do so, but seek counsel and prayers from the leadership of your

church. Click on the link here to read more

Liberty (PARL) Director
