General Reference includes e-books,

online subscriptions, CD/DVD-ROMs, foreign and Filipiniana reference bookssuch as dictionaries, encyclopedias,atlases, directories, almanacs,yearbooks, etc.Social Sciences compose of foreignbooks in the fields of philosophy,

religion, history, geography,anthropology, population, linguistics,sociology, and political science.



Filipiniana Books include printed books inthe Philippines; books about the

Philippines regardless of author,language and publisher·s imprint; andbooks published by Filipinos in anysubject.Serials include Filipiniana and foreignscholarly journals, magazines andnewspapers.Filipiniana Special Collections includerare books, books in personal papers of

Filipiniana and Archives Sections,microforms, tapes diskettes, government documents, maps, speeches, seminarpapers, vertical file, artworks and otherrare collections.



Microforms are produced microfilmcopies of personal papers and recordsat the U ARD, rare Filipiniana books andperiodicals.Audio-visual Materials include

videotapes, computer discs, audiocassettes, slides and kits .U niversity Archives contains universityrecords,personal papers of U niversityadministrators, faculty & U niversityStudent Council officers, theses anddissertations, and U P officialpublications.

General Reference books, T heses,Dissertations and Periodicals, Reserve

Books and Special Collections (rare

books, personal papers of the Filipiniana andArchives Sections, AV materials, microforms,diskettes, art collections, and certain types of

Fine Arts books, etc.) are for room use

only. Circulation books can be borrowed for home use and are usually loaned for

two weeks.



The use of Archival materials shallbe subject to any restrictions that

may have been imposed by theoriginating office of the U PSystem or the donor.U se of special facilities (e.g.microforms, computers and mediasources) shall be assessed withprescribed fees.
