Please note that all routes are subject to change and disruption
9 Cross over the A52 and proceed down Moor Lane heading south. Continue until you see Station Road on your right and a farm drive on your left about 100 meters from Station Road. Follow directions A-C for the off-road route shown on the map with a dashed line or to stay on-road go to direction 10.
A For the off-road route, take the farm track to the left and travel east until you reach the house at the end of the drive
B Turn right before you reach the farm house, and head north along the side of the hedge. Stay with this hedge until you come to a small section of woodland.
C Take the path straight through the woods. Cross two more fields heading north east, you will have to lift your bikes over the stiles. After the second stile, keep heading north across the field with the pond and the hedge on your right. Lift your bikes over another stile, and continue north for 20 meters until you reach the A52.
10 Continue straight ahead on Radbourne Lane until you reach the A52.
11 Turn right onto the A52 until you reach Church Lane on your left. To visit Mackworth Village see direction D shown on the map with a dotted line or to head home go to direction 12.
D Turn left onto Church Lane. Follow it into Mackworth Village. When you are finished in Mackworth Village, reverse your course and approach the A52 from Church Lane.
12 Continue on the A52 until you reach a turning for Markeaton Street on you left.
13 Follow Markeaton Lane until you reach the entrance to the car park where you began. Turn right into the car park to complete the route.

Kedleston HallKedleston Hall was built between 1759 and 1765 for the Curzon family, who have lived in the area since the 12th Century. Exhibiting the least-altered sequence of Robert Adam interiors in England, with magnificent state rooms and a fine art collection, the Hall is surrounded by 820 acres of historic parkland, with beautiful series of lakes and cascades. Visit the restored 18th century pleasure gardens and view All Saints’ Church which is all that remains of the medieval hamlet of Kedleston. The Hall has toilets, food, and outside seating, making it an ideal rest stop. For more information on Kedleston Hall, visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk
Mackworth VillageThe small village of Mackworth is built around a quiet lane on the opposite side of the A52 from the Mackworth Estate. In the village there are a couple of buildings of historical interest, the Parish Church of All Saints, the remains of Mackworth Castle and a nineteenth century school house. The school house is a polychromatic brickwork, in the style of William Butterfield. All that remains of the castle is the 15th Century turreted gatehouse, which stands as the entrance to one of the farms in the village. The church is set back off the road, in the East part of the village, and was built in the 14th Century.

The Mackworth Castle ride is a pleasant 11 mile ride, taking you from Markeaton Park to Kedleston Hall with an option to visit Mackworth Village. The rise contains several gentle climbs and follows a mixture of off road tracks and country lanes.
