POLICIES
Memorandum of Understanding with WorkCover
FRNSW has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with WorkCover on notification of incidents and matters of interest. The MOU is available on the MODs page on the intranet.
An Information Pack has been sent to Area and Zone Commanders for distribution to Duty and Station Commanders.
Key points
The purpose of the MOU is to facilitate cooperation, coordination and information sharing when responding to matters of interest in a timely and appropriate manner. Information sharing is two-way:
• FRNSW Incident Controllers must request FireCOM to notify WorkCover of:
o work-related fatalities
o serious work-related injuries
o incidents likely to become high profile and involve multi-agency response
o major incidents at Major Hazard Facilities that expose or could expose a person to a serious risk to health and safety.
• WorkCover will notify FRNSW:
o ofhazmat incidents, fires or explosions that have not been reported to FRNSW
o if an Inspector identifies a workplace that manufactures or stores chemicals, has high risk and/or fire loads, and the installed fire protection is turned off or not fully functional.
Who needs to read this MOU?
All Station, Duty and Zone Commanders and FireCOM staff should read the MOU and the Information Pack.

RETAINED FIREFIGHTERS NOTICES
Royal Easter Show 2015
Applications are invited from Retained Fire Fighters who would like to be part of the Fire & Rescue NSW contingent providing fire protection services at the Royal Easter Show, to be held at Homebush Bay from Wednesday 25 March to 8th April 2015.
1. Work groups and shifts
Crews at the Royal Easter Show will be organised into two groups with a Captain, 6 fire fighters in each group. Shifts will be for either 7 or 8 days

2. Applications
Applications must be made on the form attached to this Commissioner's Orders. Copies of this form are also available from Zone Offices.
There are sections on the form relating to the effect of a fire fighter's attendance on their Brigade and Zone.
These sections must be completed by the Station Commander and the Zone Commander. Those officers are responsible for monitoring the number of applications from each station and the effect on service availability.
