In Loving Memory of Major Stephen Del Bagno
Major Stephen Del Bagno, U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron Slot Pilot Thunderbird 4, lost his life while
performing an aerial demonstration on April 4th, 2018. Our hearts go out to Major Stephen’s parents Joe and
Cindy Del Bagno and his two beautiful sisters.
On April 11th the Thunderbirds commemorated and celebrated the life of Major Stephen. Commissioner Marilyn
Kirkpatrick’s Office presented the Clark County flag, which was flying on the day of the tragedy, to the Del Bagno
family. Stephen’s Commander Lt. Col. Kevin Walsh/Thunderbird #1 described Stephen as someone who lived to
fly and to inspire the next generation. Stephen graduated from Utah Valley State University and throughout his
time as a pilot, in both the Air Force and private sector, he obtained over 3,500 flight hours and had experience
flying over 30 different air crafts.
Services were held at Stephen’s High School on April 15th at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California.
Additionally, Saugus High will add Stephen’s name to their wall of heroes. Full military honors were given which included the 21 gun salute, taps (bugle call), flyover of F-35 Lightning II’s, and F-16 Fighting Falcons.
Major Awards and Decorations

Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters

On Mother’s Day we take the time to give honor to whom honor is due. A Mother’s unwavering love is
demonstrated as she accomplishes the many tasks she’s given each day. The tasks of being teacher, counselor,
chef, nurse, mediator, confidant, and many more unmeasurable responsibilities. Those bitter sweet moments a
mother experiences as she watches her child grow and become independent with the hopes that the time she was
given was enough to give her children the tools they’ll need to flourish. We cherish each step of the way
knowing things will not remain this way forever.
Happy Mother’s Day

As always, the Clark County Fair and Rodeo was a hit!!!
During this time of year the weather can be unpredictable. Even with the wind gusts we
still had a good turnout. A special thank you goes to Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick for
donating $5,000 to our local 4-H program and for always being a strong supporter of our
youth.
Thank you to all of the volunteers and staff who worked tireless hours to make this week a success. Whether that meant repairing water lines, laying seed to ensure the grassy fields would remain lush and green, answering calls or manning booths to educate the public on
off-road safety. The joined effort made this week triumphant.
THANK YOU!!!
