Sdveral mP.mbers should be appointed to sell ads among local merchants unless this is prohibited by your Worthy Grand Matron or your consti­tutuion. This method is not too hard when two or more ladies call upon potenti­al advertisers together. Price of a1s should be agreed upon, by size and place­ment in the book. A Cake and/or B~KE (al l kinds of cakes;-eookies, pies; special breads, etc.) Sale is r.lways a quick money­maker since it involves no expense to the Chapter. It is suggP-st~d that a certain~ be set as1.de for the sal e, and one or two prominent gr0Cery stores be selected as locations. Such stores are usually gl2d to cooperate with the lacties of the Eastern Star. Two or more card tables should be provided, as well as fol1ing chair s for those who conduct the Sale. The Sale Cha irm.an should ascertain well in advance of the sale day, the number of cakes, pies, etc. she will be able to count on. It is

also advisable for her to keep a r ecord of the cakes sold, which may be done on one of the small cash sales books. such as are used by aepartmt:>nt ~tores, which will shew wh~ch cakes sell the best. Or which pies, cookies, etc.
