Dear Chamber Member:
It has been a fun-filled summer in our All American City and I hope thatyou have been enjoying the sunshine and warm weather.
Westland is excited to officially welcome Anna’s House, a premier des-tination restaurant to the city. The new restaurant opened its doors at theend of July and filled the vacancy that was the former Max and Erma’s onWarren Rd. Anna's House is a successful restaurant with locations on theWest side of Michigan, including Kalamazoo and Holland and Westland isproud to be its first Metro-Detroit location. Anna's House is a retro dinerstyle restaurant that will specialize in providing all natural, fresh, uniquedishes and has a passion for meeting the dietary preferences of the commu-nity. They offer gluten-free, dairy-free and vegetarian options to accommo-date all lifestyles. They also offer all-natural, chemical free meats andprovide house-made items that are made fresh every day.
Garden City Hospital has announced that they will soon begin work onopening a new ambulatory facility here in Westland. The new 30,000 squarefoot facility will be located next to Westland City Hall at 35700 Warren Rd.and will include ambulatory and diagnostic services that will improve accessto high quality health services for our community.
Westland's premier annual event, Blues, Brews and BBQ takes place onAugust 4 and 5 this year. As in years past, thousands will be treated tosome of the Detroit Blues Society’s most popular acts, amazing barbequeand a wide variety of Michigan’s most popular micro-brews and back bypopular demand, a massive firework celebration on Saturday evening. Pro-ceeds from this event are donated back to area non-profits and communitygroups who volunteer to help plan, organize and operate the event. To date, over $150,000 has been donated to these local organizations. Sponsorshipopportunities are always available and we offer an array of packages to fitany budget.
