Community Update
From the Principal
On Friday 7 September we had Day 1 of our Faction Athletics
Carnival which was the Jumps and Throws events. The day ran very
smoothly, despite the occasional rain shower, and I would like to
commend Ms Lisa Borrill for her organisation of this event and
acknowledge the professionalism and flexibility of ALL the staff who
assisted and supervised students. I would also like to thank the
parent volunteers, Loren Bryant-Smith, Vinn Roser, Samantha
Reynolds and Trish Allbeury, who worked the whole day on the jump
pits. It was a great team effort!
It is with great pleasure that I announce that Boddington District High
School will be an Independent Public School in 2019. I would like to
acknowledge the commitment of our School Council Chair, Cindy
Mulcahy, along with all staff, parents, students and community
members who have supported the school and been involved over the
last six months through the development and selection phase. This is
a great achievement for our school and one which we can all be very
proud of!

What Does it Mean to be an Independent Public School (IPS)?
Being an IPS means that all the stakeholders of the school (staff, parents, students and the wider community) are
united and working together to provide the best possible education for our students.
Becoming an IPS enables us to manage our resources and make decisions that are in the best interests of our
students, our families and our community. It also recognises the level of support that the school has from the
community and allows us to continue to build upon and strengthen this.
Belonging to an IPS enhances the feeling of pride held by all members of the Boddington DHS community as
there is increased opportunity for all stakeholders to be involved in their school.
