Music halls went into a gradual decline after the introduction of talking films, but the British never did let a good habit die easily… and the best music hall songs are still sung in the pubs of London.

Artist Kim Cooper ‘All Stitched Up’, marbled paper and mixed media.
More than White Paper is an exhibition by Carte Blanche, a collective of Contemporary artists. As the name implies, this exhibition is much more than the norm. Carte Blanche artists have extended and enhanced traditional skills and materials to create a broader and inventive spectrum. Each artist has chosen their preferred medium to express their passion for their environment and social issues. This exhibition is a celebration of diversity and innovation. www.moretonbayartscouncil.org

‘ Hydro-Power ’ A Solo Exhibition by local Artist Barbara Vivash
Barbara’s work reflects a life-long fascination with water whether limpid lakes, the uplifting monotony of oceanic tumult, or river quietude erupting into raging flood water torrents – the kaleidoscopic, hypnotic power of nature’s liquid presence, an ambitious attempt captured on canvas. The artwork aspires to capture some essence, some semblance of hydro-power observed in the Queensland rain forests, coastal beaches and omnipresent rivers with acrylic and watercolour paint featured on multi-media supports.
On Show from 7th April to 3rd May 2020 ‘Stage Door Gallery’ , Downs Street , Redcliffe Entertainment Centre. 4020 www.moretonbayartscouncil.org
