Essential Questions
Why is it important to laugh? What’s the funniest thing that has ever happened to you? Who is your favorite funny person and why? Which do you think is harder—writing/drawing/performing the serious stuff or the funny stuff?

Activity• Discuss the Essential Questions.
• Have students bring in their favorite jokes and stories, and have them work on illustrating those jokes and stories.
• Perhaps some students don’t like to draw—have them act out the story or joke, and work on their comic timing! Or have them do solo shows as stand-up comedians with 2-5 minutes of prepared material.
• Send comics and videos of performances to KidzEra for possible publication! Be sure to include the submission form.
