The power station Jänschwalde is situated near the village Jänschwalde in Brandenburg at the German-Polish border.

The installed performance of the lignite-fired power station amounts 3.000 megawatt and consists of six 500 MW-blocks. The power station was built between 1976 and 1989. After the reunification, the latest environmental protection systems were added.
