Olana’s 2019 exhibition will showcase multimedia design concepts and installations, developed by leading architects and

select artists. As Guest Curator, Barry Bergdoll (of Columbia University and the Museum of Modern Art) invited a group

of today’s most exploratory architects to respond to the transitional outdoor rooms at Olana that are so essential to the

original 19th century design of Olana’s Main House. As part of the exhibition, there are special “Architects on Art” tours.

SkyRide: Motorcycle Ride Across Walkway

Saturday, August 24 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm In celebration of the Walkway’s ten-year anniversary, Hudson Valley motorcyclists are invited to participate in a special one-time-only ride over the iconic span, the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world! Registered bikers and their passengers will check-in and assemble on the Hudson Valley Rail Trail in Highland. After crossing the Walkway Over the Hudson, all riders will proceed through the City of Poughkeepsie and over the Mid-Hudson Bridge to Motorcyclepedia Museum in Newburgh where they will enjoy food, drink, live music, vendors, and tours of Motorcyclepedia’s vintage bike collection. part of the St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre. This event, and the

continued persecutions of Jay’s ancestors led his grandfather to flee

France and establish himself in America. This tour will look at the Jay

family’s Huguenot heritage and examine how its influence shaped

The leader of the hike will discuss the history and construction of the Old Croton Aqueduct and the features of the Croton Dam, the trailhead of the Aqueduct Trail. The leader of the hike will discuss the history and construction of the Old Croton Aqueduct and the features of the Croton Dam, the trailhead of the Aqueduct Trail. way. This volunteer work is crucial to preserve the forest and wildlife

for future generations. No experience necessary.
