Inca Nut – Treasure from the Rainforest
Latin name: Plukenetia volubilis
other names: most common – sacha inchi, but also inca inchi, sacha peanut, Inca-peanut, mountain peanut
native area: tropical South America (Suriname, Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, northwestern Brazil)
cultivation: for centuries by indigenous people in Peru, grows in warm climates up to altitudes of 1,700 m
Inca nut oil is said to have excellent skin care benefits, such as:
− exceptionally soothing to dry or irritated skin
− limits dehydration
− helps to strengthen and rebuild natural skin barriers
− high antioxidant properties anti-aging
− balances acne-prone skin
