Quick Recap 01SSD stands for?
HDD stands for?
HDD’s are best because…
SSD’s are best because…
This is a…
It is what type of memory?
Peripheral 02A peripheral device is something that plugs in to a PDD.
There are three types:Storage – Already done that, that’s so last lesson!
Input or outputINput- if the peripheral sends data in to the device
&OUTput - if the peripheral receives data from the device
Input Process Output 02Here’s an image of Rhianna playing Xbox. No really!
Label any input or Output devices you can see in this image using the whiteboard
Input Process Output 02Why are some devices both input and output?
Can you think of any other examples?
TV
HeadsetControl padTV
Remote

Input and Output Devices 02Some input and output devices can sometimes be used on
multiple devices. For example headphones can be taken out of one PDD and inserted into another.
Others are ‘built in’ which means they already come as part of the standard model of the PDD.
Can you think of an example of an ‘in built’ PDD?

01Devices often share data between them:
If they ‘connect’ then it means data is being passed between them.
E.G:
Connectivity
Connectivity 02Devices can connect in four main ways:
Data Cables (Wired)
Bluetooth (Wireless)
Wi-Fi (Wireless)
Cloud Sync (Wireless or Wired)
Task 03Pick a method of connectivity:
Write a short rhyme to tell everybody what it does.Use nursery rhymes as inspiration!
Task 03E.G.
Cloud StorageTo transfer the data real quick,You don’t even need to click.Using the internet it will go,
With an automatic flow,to the cloud like a magic trick.
04Connectivity
Why is it important?
Why do we need to synchronise or ‘sync’ devices?
Receive UpdatesBackup your data
Share DataStream video/audio/images
04Connectivity
You need to know the advantages and disadvantages of each type of connection.
Think about:
Speed of transferReliabilityMobility
04Connectivity
Access the table to complete from:O:Drive -> Students -> ICT -> 2016 Resources -> Y11 ->
Connectivity
Your answers should be very brief. If it goes beyond one line it’s too long
