Crowley Chemical in the U.S. say that its aromatic petroleum extender designated Viplex 895-~L costs about half the price of DEHP, and can be used in PVC plastisols (where colour is unimportant) to replace up to a half of DEHP. DEHP prices, in common with other primary plasticizers, continue to rise. Air Products Nederland BV has issued a new data sheet which lists the typical properties and reactivity, cure, post-cure, storage and handling information on Amicure 101 curing agent for epoxy resin systems. A new brochure, entitled "The Utilization of Colour Concentrates," is now available from Reed Plastics Corporation, Holden Indus- trial Park, Holden, MA01520 (U.S.). The brochure first reviews the range of different colouring methods available to plastics manufacturers, then provides in- depth information on how colour concentrates are made and used within the plastics manufacturing business. The eight page booklet also contains a glossary of common terminology used in the colour concentrates industry and describes the advantages of using concentrates over other types of colourants.
