Hills driving has been one of the added bonuses of our family relocation to Lobethal—hardly any lights! The roundabout on the way into Lobethal even runs smoothly, unusual compared to some of the other roundabouts in Adelaide (we’re looking at you Britannia roundabout!). Roundabouts can be tough, driving round and round, not sure when you’ll get off, it can be frustrating to say the least.

Sometimes life can feel like this, going round and round in circles and not getting anywhere. In fact, I prefer to use the analogy of a roundabout rather than a crossroad when it comes to life, as I believe that just like a roundabout you can come back to where you started.

Have you ever felt that? Questioned why you are here, your purpose, your role in life? I think when we encounter tough and difficult times, when we are at a cross road, or ‘roundabout’ if you like, these types of questions come to the surface, and pervade our thinking.

As a new school, we are at the next intersection of our journey. Thankfully, as a Christian school we know that God is sovereign, that he has plans for us. As we take our next steps as a school community, we can rest easy knowing that He is in control.

Welcome to Term 1 Week 2 A warm welcome to our first official Lobethal Lutheran School Newsletter for the 2021 school year.

As a Principal, I feel very blessed to be part of the special community that is Lobethal Lutheran School. It has been an exciting start to the year, getting to know the fantastic learners at our school.

We hope you are all enjoying your start to the new school year, and are delighted that you are part of our amazing community. Our door is always open and your feedback is always appreciated. It has been great to meet with so many families and students already, your ongoing feedback ensures that we maintain a joyful and caring community that places the care of your children and the quality of their learning as our first priority.

It is an honour and privilege to be able to serve as your Principal. As we begin the new chapter of the Lobethal Lutheran journey it is heartening so have such a fantastic community. Thank you for continued your support of our school.

New Staff Each year always brings about change. This year we are so delighted to have Nicole Pfeiffer as our new classroom teacher. Nicole comes to us with a wealth of knowledge from her years of experience as CLW camp leader, and fantastic enthusiasm—welcome Nicole!

Communication Thank you for your feedback regarding communication. We are working hard to streamline our communication with families. The Seesaw app is a great way to communicate with your child’s classroom teacher. As always stop by for a chat or send an email to our friendly admin.

As a school we have listened carefully to your feedback and have scheduled events accordingly.

2021 will be a camp year for our school, please find below tentative dates, and watch out for

further information from our classroom teachers. Please find below the details of important dates

for this term, we have set these early to allow parents and friends to plan ahead, community

events are a special part of Lobethal Lutheran School.

Uniform Shop

We would like to thank Joy Fox and Alyssa Fox for volunteering their time as our Uniform Shop

co-ordinators for 2021. Our Uniform shop is now in the front office and is open every Wednesday

from 3:00—3:30pm.

After School Clubs

We are blessed at Lobethal Lutheran to offer a varied after school program. Many thanks to our

amazing volunteers. If your child would like to take park in a session, please get in contact with

our friendly admin to submit your expression of interest.

Thursday - Coding Club

Music - Instrumental and Singing Lessons

Tamara Koop will be continuing to offer private piano, guitar and drum lessons at our school.

Tamara will be here every Friday and has a couple of spots left. Please contact Tamara for more

singing lessons every Thursday. There is the option of individual or group lessons. Please contact
