What do you know about color theory?
• Knowledge of color theory increases our understanding and appreciation of the different ways that artists use color
• How does color affect our lives?– What are things that are color coded?
Three main components
• Hue
• Value
• Intensity
Color is…What the eye sees when light is reflected off of
an object
Color Spectrum: arrangement of color in natural order: ROY G BIV
Hue=Color (Green, Blue, Red)
• Hues have a circular order which we know as a color wheel.
• Color wheel is a device to help explain relationships between colors
