1.0 Introduction

The Village 5 Sudent Representative of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS are organizing Colour Fiesta for the September 2014 semester. The V5SR Colour Fiesta program is an internal event for all UTP students to create an event that would be done anually and be a symbol event for Village 5. This event is held to stimulate integrity between different ethnicities in Malaysia as well as students from abroad as international students in Village 5 would also be involved. Besides that, it is also to provide new infrastructure to further enhance the image of Village 5 and to promote the multitude of facilities situated in Village 5. Other than that, this program would provide an alternative for students to achieve relaxation and also to add some social activities in their lives.

2.0 Objective .1. To create a High Impact Program to promote V5SR.2. To promote the multitude of facilities and services V5 have to offer.3. To add infrastructure in the form of decoration to enhance the image of Village 5.4. As a platform for the V5SR members and fellows to get know each other and strengthen the foundation that bonds the members.5. To gain income for V5SR members.6. To nurture sportsmanship among UTP students as part of thier soft skills.7. To teach students the importance between academic and physical activities.

4.0 Details of the Program

5.0 Flow of the program

1. Colour Fiesta Decoration

Decorations such as the rattan ball canopy, origami canopy, night lights, and various other colorful decorations were installed on the 18th of November and was kept on during the whole duration of the program. The installation of the decorations were praised not only by the caf operators in but as well as the staff of Village 5 office. The purpose of the decorations are to be considered successful as many students came to appreciate the environment in Village 5. 2. Siesta Fiesta

An event for students to engage in relaxing activities besides bringing the crowd to Village 5 to further promote the facilities in Village 5. This event commenced on the 22nd and the 23rd of November with the earlier arrival of vendors on the 19th November . The event started at 4 p.m. by the vendors who were called to sell snacks and drinks. There were also mini games organized by the Colour Fiesta committee. Unfortunately, this event did not gain as much support as we initially thought. This could be because of the location of Village 5 which as located quite far from other villages such as Village 1,2, and 6.

3. Rainbow Race

The Rainbow Race event was on 22nd November. The race started at 9 a.m. with 11 teams consisting of 42 students. The race is team based which required teams to travel to five checkpoints scattered all over UTP. Each team were required to accomplish a task that was presented to them at each checkpoints. The tasks were planned to challange them physically as well as mentally besides requiring them to practise teamwork with their team members.Three winners were chosen and were given hampers and medals during the closing ceremony. This event was considered a success as we managed to convey our theme of colours through the race.

4. Sports Tournament

The sports tournament consists of three sports which is carrom, table tennis, and dodgeball. A total of 43 students entred the sports tournament. This event started on the 20th and ended on the 22nd of November starting at 9 p.m. and ending at 11 p.m. The event started with the table tennis competition on the first day followed by carrom competition and ending with the dodgeball tournament on the third day. Three winners were choosen for each sports and prizes consists of hampers and cash prizes.

5. Colour Burst Competition

The Colour Burst Competition is a social media based competition where students were required to take pitcures and submit them to socials medias including Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the caption #colourburst or #colourfiesta.This event commenced in 19th November until 22nd November throughout the whole day. Twenty winners were chosen based on criteria set up by our comitee to ensure a fair win.

7.0 Conclusion

The five days programme has succesfully achieved the objectives of the programme which are to strengthen the bonds and gain trust between the partcipants, and give an idea of the organization to the committe as well as the participant. This programme have been proven beneficial and fun to all the participants. Although this is the first time for an event of this nature to be held in Village 5, but the outcome of the programme was definitely outstanding. Cooperation and managements attetntion are the main pillars to ensure the continuaty of such programme and to determine the success of the programme.
