The College to Career Education Forum is an event packed with new and unique professional de-velopment tools for collegiate DECA association and chapter advisors alike. The occasion provides program updates, strategies for membership and chapter development, tips on connecting students to careers, advice on building business-education partnerships, and best practices for implementing DECA into curriculum and gaining support on campus. The session also provides an avenue to gain inspiration to excel with an insightful opening speaker and exchange new ideas while networking with peers.

COLLEGIATE DECA BOOST AUGUST 12, 2015 | NASHVILLE, TN

Collegiate DECA Boost is specialized association training designed to strengthen chartered asso-ciations to achieve their strategic goals. Training rotates each year among the areas of association management, advisor and chapter development, and community outreach development. Partic-ipants leave the intense training with a three-year development plan for their association in the area of focus.

DECA ADMINISTRATOR DAY DECA INTERNATIONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE APRIL 27, 2015 | ORLANDO, FL

DECA Administrator Day is designed to showcase DECA as a vital part of the educational system, particularly to those who do not currently have DECA chapters. Attendees are given an update on DECA’s connection to education initiatives, including the National Curriculum Standards, the Com-mon Core Standards and 21st Century Skills through DECA’s Comprehensive Learning Program. Participants also engage in a behind-the-scenes tour of students participating in academics, men-toring institutes, and evaluative processes at the International Career Development Conference. Administrators can also share best practices and new ideas during a networking lunch.

DECA AMPED JOHNSON & WALES UNIVERSITY CHARLOTTE CAMPUS JUNE 29–JULY 2, 2015 | CHARLOTTE, NC

DECA AMPED is a new, re-imagined professional learning experience designed for new and sea-soned business, marketing, finance, and hospitality teachers! Participants will learn how to en-hance their role as a teacher and DECA advisor by integrating DECA into the classroom using the Comprehensive Learning Program. Attendees will discover strategies to develop strong DECA chapters, gain tools to utilize project-based learning activities within the classroom, and network with peers to exchange fresh ideas. The new DECA APMED will offer multiple exciting strands, such as new advisor specific information, experienced advisor “how to” material, key tools for SBE and chapter management, and more. Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits will be awarded to all advisors completing the professional learning activities. The event is sponsored and hosted by Johnson & Wales University. All training will occur on the Johnson & Wales University Charlotte Campus.

DECA CHARTERED ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT CONFERENCEAUGUST 13–15, 2015 | NASHVILLE, TN

The Chartered Association Management (CAM) Conference is professional development designed for chartered association advisors and key leaders. Attendees receive updates on DECA Inc. pro-grams and association management practices, as well as a preview to the upcoming International Career Development Conference site, hotels and conference plans. The conference also provides an opportunity for association leaders to provide input into DECA and to network with fellow advisors.

DECA Inc. offers training, resources, information sharing and network opportunities through professional development to enhance teaching, improve performance and fulfill certification requirements for continual professional development. Participants receive certificates of achievement, as the activities are suited to integrate into classroom instruction.

Designed for chartered associations ready to take their association to the next level, DECA Intensity is a three-day training session focused on building strong associations within the organization. DECA INTENSITY offers participants the resources, tools and insight to man-age and grow in many challenging areas. Training concentrates on areas such as effective association management, professional development program construction, engagement with DECA’s National Advisory Board, successful alumni connection building and strong communications plan development.

DECA’s New Advisor Academy is designed to help DECA advisors with fewer than six years of experience understand their various roles and responsibilities, enhance their teaching with DECA, and develop innovative ideas. DECA advisors also learn how DECA’s Compre-hensive Learning Program integrates into classroom instruction, applies learning, connects to business and promotes competition. A line up of presenters will help advisors enrich their classroom. A series of roundtable sessions is also offered as a quick exchange of best practices and cool ideas. A blend of philosophy and practical instructional techniques, the New Advisor Academy empowers each advisor to “be a hero” in the classroom.

DECA NEW ADVISORS OF CHARTERED ASSOCIATIONS TRAINING AUGUST 11–12, 2015 | NASHVILLE, TN

The DECA New Advisors of Chartered Associations Training is an insightful session de-signed for chartered association advisors in their first year of experience. Held just prior to the Chartered Association Management (CAM) Conference, the training is designed to help new advisors get acquainted with their new leadership position. Training topics include an overview of DECA’s structure and its relationship to associations, functions and responsibilities of a chartered association, and commitment expectations to local chapter advisors.

DECA TRAIN THE TRAINER CERTIFICATION COURSEJUNE 18–20, 2015 | RESTON, VA

The DECA Train the Trainer Certification Course is designed to train key leaders of char-tered associations to get energized for the year ahead in order to assist local chapter advisors to use DECA as a powerful experiential learning resource. Led by DECA Inc. inter-national staff, participants walk through content-rich modules that trainers are to present at local, district and chartered association professional development events. As a capstone activity, trainers create an association professional development plan to implement during the academic year. Upon successful participation in the course, attendees will be deemed a 2014–2015 DECA Certified Trainer, geared to effectively deliver new and insightful pre-sentations and content useful to DECA local chapter advisors.

E-LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES POWERED BY DECA The Professional Learning Series powered by DECA offers free live and archived webinar presentations and Google+ Hangouts on a variety of topics across career clusters.
