Why are we here?• To provide additional assistance for mastering
competencies on the BM01 exam.• Interact with other students and facilitator in areas that
tend to be difficult areas on the exam.• It is highly recommend you attend each seminar if you are
working on 2nd attempts and beyond for the BM01.• Successful completion of all 8 sessions will result in 3rd
attempt approval.

What is expected of you?• Be prepared to discuss the list of topics. I will ask all of
you questions based on the materials that were sent to you in advance.
• Read the requested materials BEFORE the session starts and take notes, write down questions as appropriate.
• Apply these concepts to real life experiences. BM01 exam is competency based!

Conversation – An exchange of thoughts & feeling where genial cooperation prevails.
Dialogue – Inter-subjective understanding: placing yourself in others’ shoes to see the world as they see it mutuality – depending and changing understanding based on what we learn from others.
Discussion – Disciplined and focused exploration of mutual concerns.

To help you become more competent and prepared from the BM01 exam

No criticism of anyone’s answers, even if they are incorrect
Mutual respect by and for everyone in the discussion
Communicate in the clearest way possible Provide the most accurate and comprehensive
answer to the question possible Genuinely try to be understood by others

Discussion FormatDiscussion FormatParticipants will be called on directly by facilitator.
Step 1: Facilitator will present discussion topic. You have 30 seconds of quiet
time to organize your thoughts on the topic. Step 2:
When called on, each of you will speak individually about the topic for up to 3 minutes.
This speaking time is uninterrupted. Facilitator will call on students for 12 minutes.
Step 3: Facilitator will provide a response if one hasn’t been covered.
Facilitator will review and proceed to the next topic.(Brookfield,
2007)
