Council will soon commence preparing a Housing Strategy to guide the planning and development of housing in the Shire’s 12 villages over the next 10 years and beyond. The first step in the preparation of the Strategy is to engage with the community to seek their vision, views and recommendations of how growth in housing should occur across the Shire in the short, medium and long term. Workshops were held throughout the Shire during April 2019 to provide an opportunity for everyone to have upfront input into the formulation of a draft Housing Strategy. A second round of community workshops will be held later in the year to review the draft Strategy once it is prepared. A community survey is now available at: www.upperlachlan.nsw.gov.au/news/housing- strategy-community-survey to ensure those that were unable to attend the workshops can provide input into the Housing Strategy. The survey closes on Friday, 31 May 2019. The Housing Strategy will guide where and what types of housing are constructed over the next decade, so it is essential that it reflects the community’s views and expectations. For further Information please contact Council’s Strategic Planner, Hamish Sinclair, on 4830 1021. Community Information Page - 16 May 2019_october 6.qxd 9/05/2019 10:53 AM Page 1
