• Gael Linn’s courses are designed to improve the students’ command of the spoken language and to give them the confidence to communicate with greater fluency in Irish. The courses are both exciting and enjoyable and require students to speak Irish for the full duration of the course to the best of their ability.

• On the first morning of the course the students will be interviewed and assessed by the teaching staff to determine the class level which will best suit their needs.

• A mixture of formal classes and a wide range of activities ensure every student has an opportunity to improve fluency in the Irish language and deepen awareness of the Irish heritage.

• All formal classes are conducted by fully trained teachers.• All other activities are fully supervised by teachers and a cadre of experienced cinnirí.• Students stay with local families and each house has been inspected by representatives of the Department• of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.• All Gael Linn courses in the Gaeltacht are approved by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the

Gaeltacht.• Coláiste Gael Linn Mhachaire Rabhartaigh is also registered with CONCOS, the national federation of

summer colleges.

There is a wide variety of games and activities available at the College. All students are encouraged to take part.

Gael Linn makes special travel arrangements for students. The fare is not included in the course fee. Students using these arrangements will be supervised. If you intend to avail of the service please indicate this on the application form.

Coláiste Mhachaire Rabhartaigh is a Gael Linn summer college located in north west Donegal. Machaire Rabhartaigh is one of the strongest Gaeltacht areas in the country with a rich cultural heritage and

magnificent scenery, including views of Inis Bó Finne and Tory Island.

Course A - £475 | Course B&C - £655A deposit of £150 must accompany the application in order to secure a place. In the event of an application being withdrawn before 1st May 2020, any deposit paid will be refunded less an administration charge of £50. Any withdrawal within 30 days before the course start date will entail loss of the full deposit. For those so entitled, only one discount can be applied to each application

Date for payment of full fees is 30 days before the commencement of the course.An additional fee of not more than £25 will apply for course folder as well as a college trip during the course. This will be payable on arrival.

Caithfidh gach scoláire iarracht a dhéanamh Gaeilge a labhairt i gcónaí. In order to benefit from the course students must be prepared to make a determined effort to use Irish at all times. No matter what standard of Irish the student has, he / she can only improve with constant practice. An unwillingness to make an honest effort to speak Irish at all times will result in your child being sent home.
