In her Sophomore Residential Seminar, Haesel traveled to Istanbul, and she spent this summer on campus conducting research.
MARIADORIN SHAYO ’17Home country: TanzaniaMajor: MathematicsAt Colgate: As president of the African Students’ Union, MariaDorin organized two on-campus African fashion shows with designers from New York City. Over the summer, MariaDorin earned special funding from Colgate’s Career Services to research traditional healing practices in Tanzania.

ISHIR DUTTA ’17Home country: IndiaMajors: Physics, MathematicsAt Colgate: Ishir conducted research to detect optical forces on molecules using high-energy lasers, and he also tutors local school children. He traveled to South Korea and San Francisco, and conducted a survey of the water supply in Delhi during an internship.
