Luxurious Living Coleccion Alexandra’s Show House – Valencia
The two prestigious design houses of Luxurious Living in partnership with the Coleccion Alexandra Design Studio have conceived this Spanish villa as their model show space – intriguing visitors with possibilities that their entirely bespoke collections of furniture, lighting, fabrics, rugs and accessories presents to specifiers and home owners alike. Beginning approximately 18 months ago, the Design Studios led by the exquisite Maria Jose Guinot embarked upon a journey into creating the epitome of a show case for their collections, with the goal being two-fold: both a relaxed familial retreat as well as an elaborate entertaining venue for the world renowned home furnishings firm. The casa is a part of a well-established inherited property, originally conceived as an oasis from the bustling coastal metropolis of Valencia, Spain. Encapsulated within a cultivated garden of mature trees and exotic flora resides the rusticated villa. As the years have progressed, the style of the house has been a mirror of the design firm’s collections, elaborately translating the styles of the past 3 decades; hence it was in need of an update and refurbishment. Taking on its new role as a showcase for the exquisite collections – the inspiration came from the rich history of the surrounding area, much like the furniture the design house creates: unique Moorish elements combine with classical Mediterranean influences alongside elaborate Renaissance era rustication. The project began by stripping away the dated furnishings and adventurous colour palette, resulting in a contemporary update reflective of the elegant cache the brand evokes.

As one approaches the home, the grand but appropriate proportions of the spaces allow visitors to meander throughout the open plan, engaging with the various antiquities collected from around the world on Maria’s exotic travels. Subtle tones and patterns juxtaposed alongside classic architectural ornamentation combines to both excite the eye and yet treat the visitor to a comfortable haven as the plan has been manipulated to create a processional series of spaces within which to relax and convene. Highlighting the now more subdued palette, the carefully chosen bright and playful artworks (mostly conceived by friends and fellow associates in the close-knit design community) allow the home’s visitors to personally engage with the unique personality of this globally respected, elite home furnishing brand. The result is a triumph of world-class style that has glamorously set the stage just in time for Coleccion Alexandra’s introduction to the UK market. The exciting revival of age-old craftsmanship and classic opulence arrives at a time when the world is in need of a departure from minimalism. Through the marriage of these two companies and their shared creative goals, this show home truly does emote all the qualities of Luxurious Living.
