Wondering what is involved in sailing as part of the high school team?

Bill Collins, a senior US Sailing judge, is working with Coach Foley to hold a Racing Rules of Sailing seminar on Thursday at 3PM in Rm. 174 of the high school. Current members, interested students, and

parents are all welcome to attend to learn about the latest and greatest changes in the sport.

Library to Learning Commons Cohasset Middle-High School is committed to providing our students with a safe and

supportive learning environment while preparing our students for life and study beyond the confines of 143 Pond Street. In that spirit, we are looking to transform our traditional

Library into a Learning Commons where students and teachers can collaborate, create, and innovate.

The plan to make this happen has been several years in the making but initial schematics have been drawn up and were presented to School Committee in September.

The Cohasset Education Foundation has generously dedicated their fall capital fundraising campaign to this transformation and we would greatly appreciate your support

of this project that will benefit ALL current and future Cohasset students.

Opportunities to learn more are abundant!

December 1st in the CMHS Library @ 7PM: hear a presentation and envision the transformation

The CEF is also hosting Eat, Drink and Be Giving cocktail parties on Tuesday November 15 and

Wednesday November 16 at which all are welcome. If you would like to attend one of these dates,

please contact Katie Norton at [email protected] or visit the Learning Commons page on the CEF

website, cohasseteducationfoundation.org for more information."

Safe Harbor Cohasset Coalition

Invites You To

Open Coalition Meeting Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 6:30 pm

Bates Hall, Second Congregational Church*

43 Highland Avenue

We are pleased to welcome you and our dynamic guest, Andrew Stephens, to a roundtable discussion.

As Principal at Duxbury High School for the last 10 years, Mr. Stephens has worked closely with students, faculty, Duxbury FACTS and the Duxbury Police Department to address adolescent drug and alcohol misuse, prevention and recovery. He joins

us as a source of honest insight about what has worked and has not worked for them. As a resident of Cohasset and parent of students in our schools, he is com-

mitted to helping our community work efficiently toward a common goal. Questions will include:

What are current trends among students? Are the messages kids receive from parents, schools and community institutions

consistent? Are consequences consistent?

What can parents do to support the school’s efforts? What are some of the triggers to substance misuse?

What structures exist within our schools and community to prevent or address anxiety, stress or depression?

After the discussion, SHCC will host a brief coalition meeting with a detailed agenda forthcoming.

*Please note the venue change.
