STRENGTHS WEAKNESSESThe biggest producer of Coffee with a total of 25,223 has with a production of 27,868.53MT.
Extremely low production on a hectare
Has still Vast of potential area i.e. 35,186 has.
Below average quality coffee
Has existing brands i.e. Brown Cup Kulaman Coffee and GreentropicsCoffee brand already accepted by the domestic market.
Not known in the World Market due to very low/minimal export.
Coffee can serve as forest cover, prevent soil erosion & watershed.
Low maintenance of coffee plantations.
SWOT Analysis of the Coffee Industry in Region XII
Coffee is a priority crop of the region and of the AGRI PINOY HVCD Program of DA.
Disunity among coffee growers which hinders the development of the coffee industry
Typhoon Free Inadequate information, Education,communication (IEC) on the potential of coffee industry
High transport cost in transporting produce to market
Access to quality planting materials
THREATS OPPORTUNITIES
Cheaper and lower quality imports.
Global warming can impact coffee producing countries like Brazil, Uganda and other countries like Africa.
There is growing demand for “Organic” coffee domestically and for export.
The Philippines can also tap the huge market for Halal coffee and Barako coffee in the Middle East.

Establish a Coffee Nursery, Demonstration Farm and CoffeeTraining Center in the Provincial Nurseries of the cluster.
AGREEMENTS:
DA to provide funds for the construction of the nursery and itsfacilities;
The Province will manage and operate the Center, provide staff andfunds for the operation and maintenance of the center;
The Cluster (province) will provide yearly contribution to fund theproduction of genetically superior coffee planting materials;
