Dementia is one of the world’s greatest challenges. It shatters lives and leaves millions heartbroken. Every pound you raise through selling cakes and coffee will fund pioneering research that will make a difference to people’s lives.

Planning your coffee morning guideOrganising a coffee morning is a great way to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK and also a lovely way to spend time with friends, family, colleagues and the local community. Here are some things to consider when planning your coffee morning:

- Choose a venue for your coffee morning such as home, in the local community or at work.

- Decide on a date and promote your coffee morning by sending invites and/or putting up posters.

- Ask friends, family and colleagues if they can volunteer by baking cakes or making coffee.

- Order Alzheimer’s Research UK materials for your coffee morning. We have collection pots for donations, balloons (in purple and orange), banners, posters and leaflets about our work.

- Decorate your coffee morning using our materials. You can even make your own bunting using our how to make your own bunting guide.

- As well as selling coffee and cake why not hold a raffle and put on a competition for the best cake!

Here is how money you raise will help the work of Alzheimer’s Research UK:· £20 could fund one hour of vital research

· £50 could provide access to specialist equipment for studying cells

· £120 could support complex protein analysis

· £300 will support a person with dementia to take part in a pioneering clinical study
