CODES AND CONVENTIONS OF INTERVIEWS
Reshma, Tom, Amait and Max
Mise-En-Scene
We considered the appropriate Mise en scene for all our interviews to show the relevance of our documentary topic and also providing more information on their professional role.
We had all our interviews sitting at desks to make it look more professional and formal.
Camera Shots
The majority of our interview shots were medium close up which was too show the expressions of the interviewers and to connote their professional importance within our documentary.
Also, the majority of the interviews were not facing the camera directly to achieve the most natural interview as possible.
Lighting
Our interviews consisted of appropriate lighting where the viewer and the interviewer were not effected in anyway. We make sure it was bright enough for the surrounding and the interviewer to be seen clearly.
Editing
When asking the interview questions we asked them to leave a slight pause before answering to avoid any jump cuts in between.
We also used straight cuts in-between our interviews as this is a typical documentary convention.
Graphics
When placing the credits over the beginning of the interview, we made the name of the interviewer bigger than their job role to represent their importance. This is also a typical documentary interview convention.
