● Large main image: usually using direct address to entice the reader into buring the magazine ● A quote: quote from the interview can be presented as the headline, by the picture or the break

up the text. Quotes are usually controversial or shocking. ● Celebrities name is usually in bold somewhere to make them stand out ● Text may include a stand to introduce the person interviewed to the reader incase they dont

know them. ● Text is around 11pt in size and usually in arial font but it can depend on the genre. Text is set

into columns to make the text look tidy, drop cap is also used to show reader where to start. ● Image is usually on the left but can be on the right or bleed over both pages (usually not in

music magazines but still common), image always relates to the article. ● By-lines to give credit to photographer and writer, headline is always short and article in written

informally to relax the reader. ● Colour scheme is the same that is used throughout the magazine, will be simpe to not

overpower the article. Name of celeb can be highlighted in the colour scheme. The colours can connote the genre (black is used in rock magazines.

Layout: The double page spread of a music magazine will contain a large, edited main image that will usually take up the entirety of one of the pages, this is almost always on the left but can be on the right or bleed across the pages. The content is usually on a separate page in order to make both image and text stand out more. A direct quote from the article is always featured from the article to peak the interest of the consumer and this is used as either the headline or to accompany the image. Page numbers and by lines around found at the bottom of the page. Design: The DPS maintains the colour scheme of the magazine in order to maintain continuity throughout the magazine so as not to confuse the reader. Main image will always relate to the article and usually be edited so that it is the immediate focus of the DPS. Content Features: By lines are used to credit the photographer and writer. The headline and quote will be controversial and shocking to grab the reader's attention and then the writing of the article is informal in order to relax them, text is also placed into columns so that the article looks very tidy. A stand is used to introduce the themes of the article and also the person featured in it is introduced as some readers may not know who they are.
