Don’t forget your gift cards for BEAM. Cards from Walmart, Publix, Winn Dixie, Target or similar stores should be for $5 and up. Please take a sharpie and mark the amount on each card to make it easier for staff to distribute the gift cards. If you can't make it to a store, we do take checks made out to BEAM.

Education

Remember to scan in and log in at the Senior Center for all classes and workshops

Some people have not paid their deposits for the Janu-ary class. It is refundable when you show up. Space is still available. For the December workshop, I will bring some copies of small projects. They are mostly holiday projects. Bring your own fabric and sewing supplies if you want to do one of them.

I found someone who will take pet pillows for cats. Also, a special ed teacher I know would like pillows (a little larger) for propping up her children, and child-size bibs. So keep the scraps and fabric coming.

Lynette Ellzey

Hospitality

Everyone bring your favorite covered dish for our Christmas party. Also, please bring a total of 1 yard of fabric in any combination (two 1/2 yd cuts, three 1/3 yd cuts, four fat quarters, eight fat eighths, or any combo of jelly roll strips or charm squares...you get the idea), and package your fabric as a gift.

Handwork With Friends

There is a group which meets at the Senior Center on Tuesday mornings. It is called Handwork with Friends.

This group is made up of women who enjoy doing handwork. That is anything that can be put into a bag or basket….knitting, crochet work, embroidery, hand

sewing (bindings) and even hemming and mending.

It is wonderful to see what everyone is working on and fun to “show off” a finished project. What is even better, there is always someone to help you un-derstand a part of the directions that seem to be writ-ten in a foreign language. Come join us and have an enjoyable morning.
