▪ Understand the similarities and differences between coaching and mentoring.
▪ Identify the key skills and qualities needed to be a successful coach.
▪ Directive v non-directive coaching – the pro’s and con’s and when to use each
style.
▪ How to ask the right questions to help you surface ideas, options, personal
motivations, needs and aspirations.
▪ How to use the ‘GROW’ model and other useful coaching techniques in your
daily discussions, empowering your individuals to achieve more.
▪ “I’m always rubbish at that” - How to challenge assumptions, beliefs and
generalisations in a non-judgemental way.
▪ Hearing v Active Listening – How to really listen, for increased understanding,
empathy and engagement.
▪ “Have you got a minute?” - How to facilitate informal, ‘on the spot’ coaching
sessions.
▪ Identify how to incorporate coaching into your everyday management style.
▪ It’s not just about the theory – Learn how to put your coaching skills into practice
