andindustries.Studentslearnmethodsinmedialiteracyanddevelopacritical
vocabularyforinterpretingmediatexts,industries,audiences,andtechnologies.
Theultimategoalofthiscourseisforstudentstorecognizehowmeaningisdelivered
throughvariousformsofmassmediaandtorecognizethatthewaysinwhichwe
comprehendthesemediatextscandefineouridentityandshapeourideologyboth
individuallyandculturally.Understandinghowthemassmediapenetrateourlivesis
criticallyimportantinthiscontemporaryerabecauseofitspresencein,andour
relationshipswith,communicationtechnologyspecificallytheinternet,theWeb2.0
world,thevariousarenasofsocialmedia,andthedevicesweusetoaccess
everything.
