Community Support UPDATE FROM HEATHER 24 TH JUNE - 40 MILES TO GO! Phew Hot! Hot! Hot! 8 miles tonight. Total so far 61, so way over half. Nicely on Schedule Thank you for donations. Please donate via the Facebook link below: https://www.facebook.com/donate/263516418322487/? fundraiser_source=external_url Alternatively, you can put a cheque made out to ‘St Peter’s Church Low Fell’ or cash in an envelope marked ‘Heather’s Challenge’ and post in the door at St Peter’s or Corpus Christi. UPDATE FROM THE FOOD CO-OP Over the last week approximately 50 bags have been distributed. The majority have been collected either at the allocated times from the church (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 11.00 -12.30) or from the presbytery (various days and times). Approximately 20 are delivered. Many thanks to all who have helped with this task. Donations have been received from local churches and individuals. Thanks to everyone’s generosity the increased numbers created no problem. We continue to receive fruit and vegetables that enables all the recipients to have a good variety of fresh and dried foods. This week, two ladies from St Peter’s who have been delivering food weekly, had their frequent offer of help accepted. With masks and gloves they entered the ‘bubble’ at Corpus Christi and between them made the dried food bags up for the week. With the increased numbers the help is very much appreciated. On Thursday, Tom celebrated 25 years of being a Deacon. In different times members and volunteers at the Food Coop would be delighted to wish him well for the future and to thank him for everything - no doubt with cake. During the last 4 years Tom has been totally supportive of the Coop, making changes in the church by removing pews, installing fridges, a freezer, tolerating the growing accumulation of household goods and losing the confessionals to food etc. His positive approach and kindness have enabled the Food Coop to be a safe and welcoming environment for the members and volunteers. We will look forward to celebrating when permitted. With kind regards and many thanks for your steadfast commitment, Kath
