CO History/ Gallery 4th grade/ 2nd quarter
In what ways have geographic, economic, cultural and technological changes influenced Colorado today? To what extent have unity and diversity shaped Colorado and effected its development? How does the physical environment effect human activity?
F- class observations and conversations S- Written part for performance, written test PT- Colorado living timeline.
Stage and perform a live timeline of Colorado history. Create tableaus of each period in history. Possibly take pictures to be used in digital presentation.
Electricity, incorporate Tesla as famous person from CO
Influence of Spanish culture in Colorado history -look at Spanish related names in color rojo
Rhythms and dance – Native American. America the beautiful choral sing Rockin’ Colorado Boomdidiada- native tribes
Using measurement and scale models to map out how the gold traveled from one place to another. -Map out a road trip and calculate mileage
Using the Colorado Story text book and other primary sources to research the history and timeline of Colorado.
Possible novel study of Downriver, Bear stone and Bear Dance by Will Hobbs. Who was William Fremont? (small group set in Lit. Room)
Primary sources to look at original pictures of era in CO History. Create a digital presentation to coincide with gallery sing pictures from drama
Coil pots, silhouettes, and native weavings,
