INTRODUCTIONANDRATIONALECholsey is currently preparing a Neighbourhood Plan. As part of its evidence gatheringprocess, inNovember2016theNeighbourhoodPlanSteeringGroup(NPSG)commissionedCommunityFirstOxfordshire(CFO)toassisttheNPSGwiththecarryingoutofacommunitysurvey.CFO isacharity thatworkswithandsupportscommunitiesacross thecountyandhaslong-standingexpertiseinhelpingcommunitieswithconsultationstrategies.The survey gave all households in the parish the opportunity to express an opinion onvariousissues.Thesurveyhadeightsections:

Notes:Social (Housing Association) rented and shared ownership are examples of types of affordablehousing. The allocation of affordable homes is made by South Oxfordshire District Council andsubject to an assessment of a household’s needs. A household must be on the SODC HousingRegistertobeeligibleforthesehomes.Ifahouseholdwishedtoregisteraninterestinaffordablehousing,itwouldrequirefullanalysisofitscircumstances through a Housing Register application. There are restrictions on the number ofbedroomsthatahouseholdisconsideredeligiblefor,dependingonthemake-upofthehouseholdand whether the home is rented or purchased on a shared ownership basis. Homeowners aregenerallynoteligibleforaffordablehousing.TheremaybeadditionalCholseyhouseholdsalreadyontheHousingRegisterwhichdidnotrespondtothissurvey.
