Dr Emil Bolongaita is a Technical Director of Management Systems International (MSI), an international development

consulting firm that was awarded in 2009 as one of the top five government contractors in the U.S. for growth, innovation, professional and ethical standards, employee satisfaction, and contribution to society.

Alexei FilinkovAdjunct Faculty

Alexei Filinkov received his PhD in Mathematics from the Ural State University, Russia, in 1990. From 1994 to 2002 he was a lecturer in Mathematics at the University of Adelaide. From 2004 he is a Visiting Professor in Finance, Haskayne School of Business, The University of Calgary, Canada, and is an Adjunct Fellow in Mathematics at the Australian National University and the University of Adelaide.

TK LimAssociate Teaching Professor of Finance and Public Policy

Professor Lim earned his bachelor’s degree in economics with honours from

University Malaya and a Master of Business Administration from University Putra Malaysia. He received his Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. He also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (GCHE) from Monash University. Professor Lim was a senior corporate executive in the finance and securities industry for sixteen years prior to joining the higher education sector.

Paul ChapmanAdjunct Faculty

Paul Chapman is a fifth generation Adelaidean. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Adelaide and has

three decades experience working as an economist in the public and private sectors.

Terry BussDistinguish Professor of Public Policy

Terry F. Buss, PhD, is Executive Director and Distinguished Professor of Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University – Australia. Buss earned his doctorate in political science and mathematics at Ohio State University. Over the past 30 years, Buss has built his career in both academe and government.

Riaz EsmailzadehAssociate Teaching Professor of Management and Technology

Riaz Esmailzadeh is a currently an Associate Professor at Carnegie-

Mellon University. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Keio University, Japan, in 1994, and MBA from IMD, Switzerland, in 2002. He has over 22 years of work experience in various capacities related to telecommunications research, development and management, from a research engineer, to co-founding and working as the CTO of a telecom start-up in Tokyo, to presently as an academic. He is a co-author of “TDD-CDMA for Wireless Communications,” Artech House in October 2002; and the author of “Broadband Wireless Telecommunications Business: Costs and Benefits of New Technologies,” John Wiley and Sons, April 2006. Riaz is an inventor on more than 26 granted patents, and an author of more than 50 refereed journal and conference papers.

Murli ViswanathanAssistant Teaching Professor of Information Technology

Murlikrishna Viswanathan is Assistant Teaching

Professor of Information Technology. He received his BS degree in Computer Science & Information Systems from Deakin University, Australia, in 1996 followed by a First Class honours degree in 1997. In 2002 he completed his PhD in Computer Science specialising in Machine Learning from Monash University, Australia.

Anna ShillabeerLecturer of Information System Management

Anna Shillabeer completed her PhD with Flinders University in 2007. She has worked as a Web Developer and a Fraud and Behavioural Analyst for the WorkCover Corporation in South Australia. She has also taught both undergraduate and postgraduate Information Technology courses in the areas of Software Engineering, Project Management, and Database Management.

Tom MurrayAdjunct Faculty

Thomas H. Murray is currently founder and principle of Wexford Run Consulting. His firm assists executives and senior managers with strategic

planning, marketing, product management, and M&A activities. He leverages his expertise, structured approach, creativity, and coaching style to help executives and their teams create and implement growth initiatives.

Linda Chaousis, Managing Director, Right AngleStrategies and Adjunct Faculty, Carnegie MellonUniversity - Australia,

has held a number of senior management roles. In addition to several years consulting experience in a range of industries and sectors in Australia, the Middle East and the United States, she has authored several books, videos and management resources.

Jack Chow(Pittsburgh via video link)Distinguished Service Professor

Dr Jack C. Chow served in pioneering roles in public service and global health diplomacy. He was the first Assistant Director-General of the World Health Organization on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. Dr Chow held the rank of ambassador as the Special Representative of the U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell on Global HIV/AIDS and as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Health and Science, the first U.S. diplomat of ambassador rank appointed to a public health mission. In the immediate aftermath of the September 11 attacks, he led American diplomatic efforts in the establishment of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, and in countering global infectious diseases, including SARS. Through extensive global health diplomacy efforts, he catalyzed a historic contribution of C$100 million by the Canadian government, and major contributions by several governments, in support of WHO’s HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention campaign for developing countries.

Prodipto Ghosh (India via video link)Adjunct Faculty

Prodipto Ghosh has a Ph.D. in Economics specialising in Climate Change Modelling from Pittsburgh

University USA, Btech – Ba chelors of Technology in Chemical Engineering from IIT Delhi and a grilling school life in DPS Mathura Road, Delhi. He has been lauded with Alumni Achievement Awards from both IIT Delhi and Pitts burg University.

Kristen Kurland (Pittsburgh via video link)Teaching Professor of Architecture Information Systems and Public Policy

Kristen Kurland holds a joint faculty appointment at Carnegie Mellon University’s H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management and School of Architecture. Her focus at CMU includes technologies in the fields of Building Information Modeling (BIM), Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM), and Geographical Information Systems (GIS).

James Rogers teaches classes in Enterprise Systems – Concepts & Systems and Development Management. James

is a senior leader specialising in the creation and development of technology organizations within companies to successfully deliver significant measurable business results.

Silvia Borzutzky (Pittsburgh via video link)Teaching Professor

Silvia Borzutzky is Teaching Professor of Political Science and International Relations.

Dr Borzutzky holds a Law Degree from the University of Chile, and a M.A. and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh.

Mike McCarthy(Pittsburgh via video link)Associate Teaching Professor of Information Science

Michael McCarthy is an Associate Teaching Professor of Information Systems at Carnegie Mellon University’s H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management. Formerly, he served as the Director of Undergraduate Programs and a Senior Lecturer for the Department of Computer Science at the University of Pittsburgh. Professor McCarthy’s degrees include a BA in Philosophy and an MS in Information Science (Systems Track), both from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and has over sixteen years of university-level teaching experience. Mr. McCarthy has also worked as a software consultant to several engineering firms.

Professor Roehrig received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Suffolk

University, Boston, a master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Rhode Island, and a PhD in information systems from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Tim Zak (Pittsburgh via video link)Associate Teaching Professor and Director of the Institute of the Social Innovation

From January 2007 through May 2010, Tim Zak was the Executive Director Carnegie Mellon University - Australia. He began teaching at CMU in 2002 as an Adjunct Professor of Operations Management and Manufacturing at the Tepper School of Business where he also taught in various executive education programs. In 2005, he also became an adjunct faculty member where he focused on courses related to social enterprise and innovation.

Andrew Wasser is the Associate Dean of

The Heinz College’s School of Information Systems and Management at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.
