Objectives At the end of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Understand the basic knowledge of Computer system, Hardware and Software. 2. Use Windows Operating system. 3. Use Basic Linux operating systems command. 4. Perform basic administration under Windows. 5. Use Microsoft Office Suite – Word 2010, Excel 2010 and PowerPoint 2010 (basic to intermediate level skills). 1

Course Overview

This course aims at teaching the students to use two of the most prevalent operating systems nowadays, which are Windows and Linux operating systems. This course also teaches the students to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). And also to introduce students with latest presentation tools.

Objectives

At the end of this course, the student should be able to:

Class Policies1. Attendance for lecture is compulsory. Attendance for less than 80% of the lectures will result in

students being barred from taking the Final Exam. A letter of reminder will be sent to the parent if the student missed classes more than 3 times (without any MC/support letter).

2. Dress in proper attire corresponding to Universiti Tenaga Nasional dress code.3. If you are absent from the lecture due to

Sickness – MC is requiredEmergency – letter of guardian is required

4. Pop-quizzes will be given at whatever time, which is deemed appropriate by the lecturer.5. No MAKE-UP quiz will be given for whatever reason EXCEPT if you have MC.6. Make-up for Mid Term will only be given due to STRONG VALID reason.7. Cheating and Plagiarism will not be tolerated and will be penalized accordingly.8. Late submission of assignments will not be accepted unless with STRONG VALID reasons. Deduction of

10% from the awarded mark for each day late.
