This 1-day tutorial first presents the importance of corrosion and corrosion control. The topics covered include cost of corrosion, forms of corrosion, and corrosion issues in various industries, corrosion control practices, and economical aspects of corrosion control. The tutorial then introduces the corrosion education ladder and explains various rungs of the ladder including innovation, research, development, commercialisation, and standardization. It finally emphasizes the importance of innovation in corrosion R&D.
