SLOW PLAY – 7 TIPS TO SAVE 30 MNS DURING 18 HOLES

1/ Be prepared when it is your turn to play

- pay attention to the order of play - prepare your ball, your tee, put on your glove, prepare your club and think about your

shot as your partners play their shot

2/ Take note of a reference point to easily find your ball

- a tree trunk, a bush, a stake to help you identify the direction of the ball and its distance - If in doubt, always play a provisional ball

3/ Manage your movements on the course

- by using the technique of « grouping & deploying » - walk off down the fairway together - head towards your ball - always stay in a safe position - regroup as you head further down the fairway

4/ Keep your equipment within in range

- keep your equipment near you - position your bag in the direction of the next tee - note down your score at the next tee box and if it is your turn to play, play your ball

before noting down your score

5/ Save time in bunkers

- Enter the bunker using the side with the shortest distance to your ball - If a rake is not nearby, pick one up beforehand and take it in with you - Enter and exit the bunker through the same path - Rake your trace whilst exiting the bunker

6/ Save time on the green

- position your bag towards the next tee - the nearest to the hole should take charge of the flag - whoever putts the ball first puts the flag back in the hole

7/ Finish off your putt

- finish your putt if you are less than 60 cm from the hole (with attention!) - without stepping on the line of putt of your partners - stop putting if you have already reached 2 points above your PAR
