experience

Clipper is a privately owned company established in 1972. Over the last two decades, we have trans-formed from operator to ship owner, supported by strong business functions and a dedicated team of professionals. Long-term partnerships with investors and technical managers form a broad base of exper-tise giving us a unique competitive advantage.

Today, Clipper is an industry leader in bulk with in-vestments in a range of other maritime activities.

determination

Clipper is one of the largest and most dynamic bulk operators in the world. We’ve built our business on simple principles: deliver what you promise, work hands-on and always go the extra mile. The result: we have some of the most loyal customers in the industry, many partnerships going back more than 20 years.

We follow the same principles through dedicated and active management of our other investments.

performance

At Clipper, performance is a mindset. As experienced ship-owners with in-house technical management, we look at the bigger picture and continuously op-timize all parameters to reduce costs and maximize quality and reliability throughout our operation: from strategic long-term maintenance planning to daily fuel consumption. And for the benefit of both our customers and the environment.

fleetClipper is one of the world’s largest ship owners and opera-tors. In total, we control a fleet of approximately 175 vessels giving us the scale and versatility to carry a vast variety of cargo types and sizes.

Within bulk, we operate about 100 handysize, supramax and panamax vessels. We continuously renew our fleet to ensure we have the most modern bulk carriers in the world, and we proactively develop and manage pools to ensure our position as a premium carrier. We think long-term, yet remain flexible to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers.

worldwide

As a truly global operation, we are part of an increasingly fast-paced world where production on one side of the globe is dependent on raw materials from another. This is why we work around the clock, around the world. Clipper is commercially headquar-tered in Copenhagen with more than 200 employees worldwide. With offices in Europe, the Americas and Asia, we are close to your business, no matter where you are or where you are headed.

ValueClipper is more than just a tonnage provider. We have chosen to be present in business sectors where we can add value through active investments: multipurpose/project vessels and ro-ro and ferry services.

The merger of Clipper Projects and Thorco Shipping created one of the world’s largest multipurpose/projects owners and operators. Clipper-owned freight ferry company Seatruck provides an established ro-ro route structure to service Irish Sea transportation needs. Danske Færger, in which Clipper has 50% ownership, has provided Danish ferry connections across the country since 1866.

In addition to our active investments, Clipper controls a number of chemical tankers and cruise vessels.
