Clionet® - Data Care
The electric grid operates in real time; supply and demand need to be kept in balance at all times. However, the intermittency of renewables and moves to shift peak consumption are driving a need for smarter management of the end-to-end grid. Better control systems are needed to manage a greater variety of supply sources, including distributed generation.
Most utilities have many silos of information. One example is that information collected through operations on assets is usually not available in the maintenance department and vice versa. Through consolidation, many utilities also have geographical or organizational silos of information that make it difficult to get a consistent view of asset performance in different parts of the enterprise. However, it is likely that there is much less data available on assets commissioned 30 years ago than on those installed in the last decade.
ABB views technology that enables you to better control, manage and operate the grid as part of the smart grid portfolio.
ABB is moving forward in implementing the solution. ABB asset knowledge, service base, experience, performance models and algorithms are combined, together with business intelligence software for the analytics and situational awareness that bridges operation technology and IT. Clionet® - Data Care Service description
Information on the service contract, substations, bays and protection relays is available in a simple graphical structure.
Each user is granted individual access rights.
The customer can add own employees and subcontractors and grant them access rights.
It is easy to manage substation information, such as adding and deleting switchgears, bays, relays, alarm notifications, etc.

Clionet® - Data Care Server backups and restore
Server backups and restore Backups are made on a daily basis by the service vendor. The retention policy is based on ABB's minimum security
baseline. ABB is responsible for keeping 12 months old data ready to be restored. Variations depending on the type of data are possible.
Restore tests are performed at least every 6 months, and a disaster recovery test usually once a year (mostly based on SOX requirements).
The above-mentioned tasks and responsibilities depend on the application and the type of information stored therein.

Best business practice security methods used ABB constantly reviews and updates its security instructions
