Effective July 31, 2017, United Community Bank and Horry County State Bank have joined forces to expand their shared commitment to quality service throughout the Myrtle Beach community. The combined bank will provide expanded access to the United Personal and Business banking products and services, while maintaining the customer focus and local decision-making you have come to expect. Together, we will continue providing personalized financial solutions to you, our valued customers. • The merger of United Community Bank and Horry County State Bank will enhance United’s position in these fast-growing coastal markets and will provide a unique opportunity for United to offer its expanded banking products to Horry County State Bank customers. 2. How will the merger impact me? There will be no immediate effects for any Horry County State Bank customers. You should

continue to conduct your banking as you normally do and you will continue to experience the same great service from the local teams you know and trust.

3. When did Horry County State Bank begin its transition into United Community Bank? On July 31, 2017, Horry County State Bank officially became part of United Community Bank,

having received all required approvals from banking regulators and the Horry County State Bank shareholders. Until the system integration of the two companies is completed in November 2017, Horry County State Bank will operate as a trade name of United Community Bank.

4. Will my accounts still be FDIC insured? If you do not have any pre-existing accounts with United Community Bank, then

there will be no change to your FDIC insurance coverage. If you do have accounts at both United Community Bank and Horry County State Bank, the FDIC provides continuing separate insurance coverage for at least six months following the legal close on July 31.

5. Will you continue to operate under the Horry County State Bank name? Initially yes; however, Horry County State Bank will eventually begin operating under the

United Community Bank name, with a full transition scheduled for this November. The United Community Bank and Horry County State Bank teams are working diligently in the background to make this transition as seamless as possible for you. As we prepare for the full transition this November, you will see the United Community Bank name appear on some legal documents and contracts or see statements such as “United Community Bank d/b/a Horry County State Bank.” However, you should continue to conduct your banking as you normally do. We will notify you in advance if any action is needed.

banking as you normally do. United Community Bank and Horry County State Bank teams are working diligently in the background to make this transition as smooth as possible. We will notify you in advance if any action is needed.

Yes, both United Community Bank and Horry County State Bank are dedicated to you, our customer, and we will communicate as frequently as possible throughout this transition.
